I saw this image on Facebook and laughed so friggin’ hard, even though I had no clue what it was about. Now I do, and it’s even funnier.

Winnebago Man!

by on Oct.14, 2010, under Film & TV

Type “The Angriest Man in the World” into any search engine, and one name appears — Jack Rebney, a.k.a. “The Winnebago Man” — an ’80s RV salesman, whose hilarious, profanity-strewn, on-the-job meltdown was captured on video and passed around on VHS tapes, before exploding into an Internet phenomenon seen by millions. When a young filmmaker sets out on the seemingly impossible task of tracking down Rebney, who disappeared 20 years before, he finds Rebney living alone on a mountain top, as sharp-tongued as ever, but more intelligent and lovable than anyone could have imagined. WINNEBAGO MAN is an outrageously funny look at viral culture and an unexpectedly moving tale of one man’s response to unintended celebrity.

“The Simpsons” Banksy Open

by on Oct.11, 2010, under Arts & Crafts, Film & TV

Banksy is the pseudonym of a British graffiti artist, political activist and painter, whose identity is unconfirmed. His satirical street art and subversive epigrams combine irreverent dark humour with graffiti done in a distinctive stencilling  technique. Such artistic works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world….and now, The Simpsons open. I’m unclear whether Banksy created this himself or if The Simpsons founder, Matt Groening, collaborated with Banksy on this satire. Either way, it’s utterly brilliant.

Watch all of Henry Thomas’ screen test for “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial” if you can. I burst into tears 10-seconds into it.

Jedi A-Holes

by on May.27, 2010, under Film & TV

Is it just me or is everyone creating farces of the Star Wars sagas nowadays? I know Robot Chicken and Family Guy have done their fair share (of which Seth Green has participated in both) and following the stardom and ultimate collapse of Star Wars Kid, there has been a steady stream of these videos posted on YouTube. Maybe it has been this way since the 70s, but I’m just now realizing it. This one is quite funny with poignant metaphors for penises, terrorism, voyeurism, chauvinism and more penises set to a quite fitting soundtrack.
