AdAge’s Viral Video Tracking
by Demosthenes on Jul.06, 2009, under Internet
Advertising Age video talks about the powers of online viral video tracking systems to help reveal the top contenders when it comes to viral video exposure.
Yes, but what about viral images, emails and even videos that are sent via email (rather than YouTube or Daily Motion links)? This video does nothing to address where we believe MOST viral action takes place (in the inbox).
Regardless, enjoy.

Check out the body-painted Air NZ staff star in their new Bare Essentials of Safety video, created for their Domestic 737 services. Uniforms such as these might even distract Captain Cheslea Sullenberger. Check out the additional videos.
Hammer Pants Flash Mob Molests Skinny Jeans Buyers
by Demosthenes on Jun.17, 2009, under Film & TV
We have faith in that the Hammer still knows how to wow. To spark buzz for the show at a modish shop on Sunset, a bunch of people randomly burst in with bling-ass genie pants and started dancing to U Can’t Touch This, the single that made the man a legend. What’s funny is that the invasion is so forceful, so sudden, that people actually start running away. Then the violent pelvic thrusting starts, and … well … hell breaketh loose.
Hammertime debuts later this year. Catch it if you can manage to tear yourself away from those endless Keeping up with the Kardashians marathons. More on the effort here.

Welcome to V1R4L
by Demosthenes on Mar.30, 2009, under v1r4l.com
I’m going to level with you: this site exists entirely because we want to make money off the ads. Better you know that now, then find out later and get upset. But not all ad-sponsored sites are without merit and V1R4L aims to fall into the select category of those that provide useful purpose while still collecting clicks and impressions. This is why we encourage your comments (provided you pass the reCaptcha, of course) and post recommendations.
V1R4L is a tumblr to drive traffic to viral and guerrilla marketing initiatives, web trends, interesting fads and crazes and general internet tom foolery. In fact, our only rule for posts is that they have to be interesting. The categories to the right enable us to shelve posts by interest, but you certainly don’t have to submit ideas that fit neatly into one of those groups. If it’s interesting, we want to hear about it.
